The upgrade process is almost complete. You will notice now the new layout.

So, as cosmetic changes are practically finished for now, time to put some meat on those bones: that of the much overdue updates.

Changes

I have not forgotten about my beloved blog. No. Actually, I have been working on it a lot – there is just little visible evidence of it. Click back about 60 pages, and you’ll see what I mean. Here’s what I’m talking about. Now compare this with the front pages. Yes, that’s no accident. When it’s finally done, there will be a notible difference from what you’ve seen there. On my front page, there will be between 6 and 8 of those thumbail style entries underneath the newest feature article, which will have a similar layout to what it does now. You’ll see what I mean.

The two people i’ve asked so far have mixed opinion, but damn, i’m not stopping. This will make my blog better. I know it. Being a perfectionist has it’s benefits. But it can also be very annoying.

So yeah. The idea is a neater appearence, and more practical too. Now people can actually gleam what the entry may be about without clicking the whole thing. It also means header images are not horribly out of sync with the rest of the entry. They are just a thumbnail now.

Anyway, I have done about 150 entries so far. There are over 400 on my site. So expect this to take a few days. But it will be done, and when it is, expect new entries too.

Argh

WordPress is constantly making random changes – such as suddenly making tags appear underneath the title on the tarski theme. The very reason I chose the tarski theme was because of how neat it was compared with the cluttered feel of other themes (as crudely demonstrated above).

I feel as if I am continually having to creatively think of ways to make wordpress less annoying. In terms of this problem, I am removing non-essential tags (i.e. those which people are less likely to find me through) such as people’s names and trip years. I intend to include these on separate pages, in effect, creating my own elaborate (and time consuming) tagging system.

Changes will be coming fast – updates are likely very soon, and as hinted at above, I may be introducing new navigation pages and possibly other stuff.
